ED: "Pandemics Like Coronavirus Have A Scientific Explanation, Cannot Be Blamed On Anyone"
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that the coronavirus pandemic, like any other natural phenomena, cannot be blamed on anyone.
His remarks have been regarded by some as damage control that came a little bit late after Zimbabwe’s Defence Minister, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said that God was using coronavirus to punish countries that imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe.
The president’s remarks were posted on Twitter by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana. Mnangagwa said:
My Govt empathises with all the affected people around the globe….Pandemics of this kind have a scientific explanation and like any other natural phenomena cannot be blamed on anyone. We send our condolences and solidarity to all who are suffering…”

Mnangagwa’s remarks also come amidst conspiracy theories which suggest that the virus is an agent that was created in a laboratory.
The virus which emerged in China in December last is rapidly spreading across the world and has killed thousands of people.
Scientists are reportedly quickening the process to find the cure with first tests of the experimental vaccine on human beings expected soon.
