LIST: South Africa Takes These 11 Precautionary Measures To Help Curb The COVID-19 Pandemic

The South African government has taken the following precautionary measures to try and curtail the spread of COVID-19 which according to Ramaphosa stands at 61 positive cases in his country so far.

  1. Schools will be closed on Wednesday till after Easter
  2. VISAs from all high-risk countries have been suspended.
  3. Travellers from high-risk countries like The UK, the US, China, Iran, Italy, German, Spain are banned for 30 days
  4. All public gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited
  5. 35 land ports have been closed.
  6. Prison visits have been suspended
  7. South Africans advised to avoid travelling to China, Iran, USA, Italy, Spain and other high-risk countries
  8. All Travellers who have travelled to high-risk countries since February must present themselves for testing
  9. Any foreign nationals who have visited high-risk countries in the past 21 days will be denied VISAs
  10. All non-essential travel for Government officials are banned
  11. Isolation and quarantine sites are being set up in all districts and Metros
