COVID-19: Ramaphosa Closes 35 Land Ports In South Africa

The South African government has announced its decision to close 35 out of 53 land ports which include airports and borders to try and curb the spread of COVID-19 which has killed 6000 people since its outbreak in December 2019. According to Ramaphosa, 61 cases have been confirmed in South Africa so far.

In addition, the country has also closed 2 of its 8 seaports and any foreign nationals who have visited high-risk countries in the past 21 days will be denied VISA’s. All Travellers who have travelled to high-risk countries since February must present themselves for testing

SA has also cancelled VISAs to all foreigners from High-Risk countries and advised South Africans to refrain from travelling to China, Iran, USA, Italy, Spain and other high-risk countries.
