Lesotho Closes Its Borders To Curb The Spread Of Coronavirus

The Kingdom of Lesotho has suspended all travel across the country’s borders in a bid to reduce the spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

In a note dated March 10 and addressed to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Executive Secretary Dr Stergomena Lawrence Tax, a Lesotho government official wrote:

This correspondence serves to inform the SADC Secretariat that the Lesotho Government has suspended ALL travel, From and INTO Lesotho.

This embargo is imposed as a precaution against the risk of infection by the Coronavirus associated with international travel.
