The Health Minister has said he heard the public outcry over the Warriors‘ impending game against Algeria which is still on despite the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Minister promised to take the word up to ensure that the Warriors do not risk contracting the virus by travelling to Algeria which has recorded coronavirus cases.
According to Sunday News, Health Minister promised to do something about the situation in senate yesterday when he said:
We understand that our (national football) team will be playing in Algiers. That is where we have a problem.
They will go there and meet other people. We understand that in Algeria there are people who are sick and they will meet those people. We have to quickly see what we can do on that issue. They must not go, is it not? I want to thank you because I have heard you agreeing with me. I will take that word up.
Algeria has placed domestic football on lockdown while Rwanda has suspended international sports participation for now.
