The Government of Zimbabwe has announced new exams fees and the payment deadline barely weeks after reverting to 2015 fees, The Chronicle reports.
According to the publication, grade 7, O level and A-Level students at Public and private schools will pay the following fees to sit for their exams:
This means that Grade Seven candidates registered at private institutions will pay a total of $264 for all their five subjects while those at public institutions will pay $125 for all subjects.
At Ordinary Level candidates will pay $190 per subject at private institutions and $90 at public institutions.
Advanced Level candidates will pay $351 and $165 per subject at private and public institutions respectively. Those re-sitting for public examinations will also pay full examination fees.
The government has released $150 million to ZIMSEC to cushion parents who might be burdened with the exam fees hike, leaving parents to pay the remaining 53% of the fees.
