"Sabotage Forces VP Chiwenga To Prematurely Leave Clean-Up Campaign" - Report

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga this Friday prematurely left the Mvurwi clean-up campaign allegedly because of a low turnout by government and ruling ZANU PF officials.

NewsDay reports that Chiwenga had to delegate the coordination of the campaign to Perrance Shiri the minister of Agriculture.

Shiri, however, told NewsDay that Chiwenga had been called to return to Harare for a special assignment hence his premature departure. He added:

Vice-President was called back to Harare on his way here and he has assigned me to deliver his speech on his behalf.

NewsDay further reports that the ZANU PF provincial leadership, led by Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe called an emergency meeting immediately after Shiri’s address to address issues of sabotage on president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Addressing the meeting, Kazembe said:

I am being advised that the reporter who covered this (sabotage) story is in here. What is happening to our security, Simbarashe Sithole please stand up and tell us if your story is true because you are here by default.

War veterans in the province are allegedly accusing legislators of sabotaging president Mnangagwa, allegations they refute saying they are the very people who won Mnangagwa all the seats in Parliament.
