ZIFA’s attempt to get CAF to lift the ban on Zimbabwe stadiums to host international matches has been rejected by CAF. The African Football body dismissed ZIFA’s appeal to have CAF reinspect all the stadiums the government and Bulawayo City council are refurbishing, ZimLive reports.
A source that spoke to ZimLive about the issue said:
CAF did not entertain or even respond to the appeal from ZIFA, but it reminded ZIFA to name a venue as had been advised earlier. The appeal was rejected out of hand
ZIFA is also supposed to pay a US $4000 fine for delaying to confirming the AFCON match venue within CAF’s stipulated deadline.
