A man from Emarkhandeni suburb from Bulawayo will rue the day he decided to steal a Jerry can from a parked car as he has been sentenced to 12 months in prison, The Chronicle reports.
It is the state’s case that:
Thabani Sibanda stole the 20-litre jerry can from Mr Ncube’s car, which was parked near Choppies Supermarket along Fort Street in Bulawayo.
The complainant spotted the accused person and through the aid of police officers who were on patrol, they managed to apprehend the accused person and the jerry can was recovered.
Sibanda will perform community service as part of his sentence after committal was suspended on condition that he doesn’t commit a similar offence.
