Detectives Bust Robbers' Bush 'Warehouse' After 11 Homes Had Been Broken Into

Police detectives in Bulawayo have arrested two robbers who broke into 11 houses in the city between December last year and last Friday, stealing property valued at over $55 000.

Brandon Sibanda (20) and Kelvin Ndlovu (23), who were arrested on Friday, had created a hideout in a bush between Bulawayo Polytechnic College and Milton Junior School, which they used as a warehouse to stash their loot.

The arrests were confirmed by Bulawayo police spokesperson Chief Inspector Abednico Ncube, who disclosed that their accomplice yet to be identified, was still at large. He said:

I can confirm the arrest of two accused persons for breaking into eleven houses and stealing property worth more than $55 000.

The third accomplice yet to be identified, is still at large. The trio stole property worth $55 657 and were arrested following a raid by Hillside Detectives after they got information from members of the public.

Chief Insp Ncube said following the pair’s arrest, police recovered property worth $42 592. Some of the property was hidden in the bush.

The stolen property included television sets, laptops, clothes and other household property.
