ZANU PF Mash Central Province Recommends Expulsion Of 'Defiant' Tsenengamu

Byo24, an online publication has claimed to have received reports which suggest that the ruling ZANU PF’s Mashonaland Central leadership has recommended the expulsion from the party of former youth league leader Godfrey Tsenengamu.

The publication further reports that the ZANU PF  Mashonaland Central Province led Kazembe Kazembe met in Bindura this Saturday, 29 February and recommended the expulsion of the defiant Tsenengamu who is already on suspension.

Tsenengamu was suspended together with another former youth league leader, Lewis Matutu after they named and shamed alleged cartels including Sakunda boss, Kuda Tagwirei whom they said were bleeding the economy by engaging in underhand dealings.

ZANU PF then suspended them for ‘defying party code of conduct’ and they were directed to enrol at Chitepo School of Ideology. Tsenengamu, however, responded to the directive saying that he will only go to Chitepo School of ideology as a lecturer.

He has also continued with his anti-corruption drive, naming party sponsors in the process.

Tsenengamu was regarded as a huge contender to the Provincial Chairman position which is currently being held by Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe.

His removal from the party would mean less competition to Kazembe who has publicly expressed his interest in retaining the post, at all costs. The recommendation to expel Tsenengamu awaits the endorsement of the Mashonaland Central Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) which is now in session.

If endorsed the recommendation will be taken to the Politburo for approval in the coming week.
