Huge And Shocking First Defeat For Liverpool

Liverpool have this Saturday been handed their first defeat of the season by Watford, a team least expected by many as they have been winless in their last eight Premier League meetings with Liverpool (D1 L7), losing each of the last four by an aggregate score of 0-15.

Many also expected The Hornets to lose considering that they were also beaten 3-0 by an underperforming Manchester United. But everyone was shocked tonight as Watford came away with a famous 3-0 victory courtesy of goals from Ismaïla Sarr 54′, 60′ and Troy Deeney 72′.

Liverpool’s fierce strikers were a bit invisible and certainly, it is a night not to remember for the Reds, particularly Roberto Firmino who was a shadow of his usual self.

The result means that Liverpool have to wait a little longer to end their Premier League title duck as Manchester City can still win the championship if they win all their remaining games.

The 22 point gap, however, separates the Reds and the reigning champions of England as City’s match against Arsenal was postponed due to City’s participation in the Carabao Cup final against Aston Villa on Sunday 1 March.

Liverpool’s loss ends their joint-longest winning streak (18) and the second-longest unbeaten run (44) in English top-flight history.

  1. Soon as seen the team especially lovren in the team and midfield knew we would struggle. But it had to come sometime.but if that same team plays together you feel it will be the same outcome. 5 out of the squad need to be sold at least to strengthen to dominate for years.

  2. It has got to have been the worst game since Istanbul, but at least we won that in the end. I really felt sick in the stomach yesterday, i was so beat up inside. In all a really bad night for all us reds
