Thieves, MaShurugwi And Former Employees Looting At Zisco - Report

The beleaguered former giant ZISCO Steel is reportedly losing equipment to thieves and former employees and the infamous Mashurugwi who are stealing those things for resale, The Herald reports.

The massive looting was confirmed by Zisco acting board chairman Dr Gift Mugano who said:

The situation on the ground is that there is looting at the company by some former workers and thieves who are taking away cables and other material from the plant for resale.

Machete-wielding thieves have targeted the company as they go and threaten the security with machetes before getting inside the company premises and looting resources.

ZISCO went under a few years ago for a number of reasons and stories of its recapitalisation have been circulating for some time now.
