Total Value Of Exports & Imports Fell In January 2020 - Zimstat

The Zimbabwe National Statics Agency (Zimstat) says the value of total exports in January 2020 fell by 18.7% from December 2019.

During the same period, imports fell by 8.4% maintaining a positive trade balance for the fourth month in a row. In a statement posted on Twitter, Zimstat said:

Trade data statistics are out. The value of total exports in January 2020 was US$397.7 million. This was an 18.7% fall from the value of total exports in December 2019, which was US$489.1 million.

During the same period, imports declined by 8.4% to US$383.6 million from US$418.8 million in December 2019.

While a positive trade balance was maintained for the fourth month in a row, it reduced by 79.9% from US$70.2 million in December 2019 to US$14.1 million in January 2020.
