BINGA: 181 Homes Damaged By Floods

Floods that hit Matabeleland’s Binga district last week damaged 181 homes and of those 181 homes, 37 of them were completely destroyed, New Zimbabwe reports. This was revealed in preliminary reports that accessed the damage caused by the floods that were done by various organisations that visited flood-hit Binga.

According to the publication:

Acting Binga district development coordinator Farai Marinyane said the CPU was still monitoring the situation to make sure villagers were safe.

He said most of the affected villagers lost household property, clothes, food, livestock, crops and other belongings while roads were left with gullies and bridges destroyed.

Tour operators, hotels and individual players in the tourism sector together with residents of Bulawayo and Victoria falls have sent food, blankets and clothes to the victims of the floods.
