Two Men Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Copper Cables And Python Skin

Police in Bulawayo have arrested two men after they were found in illegal possession of 50 metre-long copper cables and python skin.

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said that the police, acting on a tip-off from the public, raided the house of Simon Jele of Umguza District whom they found in possession of the cables and python skin.

Jele then implicated his co-accused, Ndabezinhle Ndlovu of Trenance suburb who was eventually arrested. Ncube said:

I can confirm the arrest of two suspects for illegal possession 50 metres of copper cables whose value is yet to be ascertained and a python skin. Sauerstown police conducted the arrest. Both the copper cables and the python skin were recovered.

Ncube also said that the duo will appear in court soon. The development comes after local power utility, ZESA has said that some of the power cuts were being caused by vandalism of its property by thieves.
