Tempers Expected To Explode At ZANU PF Politburo Meeting

Tempers are expected to flare up at the ZANU PF politburo meeting this Wednesday as it comes just two days after members of the youth league accused some businesspeople who are considered to be close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa of corruption.

ZANU PF youth league deputy secretary, Lewis Matutu and political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu on Monday held a Press conference at the Media Centre where they accused Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Billy Rautenbach, two men with interests in fuel, of corruption and sabotaging the country’s economy.

Some reports claim that party chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, with the support of some politburo members, were looking to push out the military component in the party and leave Vice President Constantino Chiwenga exposed.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF secretary of administration Obert Mpofu said the accusations made by the duo were not on the Politburo agenda as they issued the statement in their personal capacities. He said:

We are not aware of the factions that you are talking about and from the information that I have, they addressed the Press conference in their individual capacities and did not speak for the party. The party is not part of that and it’s not part of this.
