VP Chiwenga Refuses Water At Prayer Event As Fears Of Poisoning Persist

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga on Saturday refused to drink water at the Zimbabwe Indigenous Churches organised National Day of Prayer at Harare’s National Sports Stadium.

Chiwenga was reportedly offered a glass of water while he was introducing President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the religious event but refused to take it.

The snub has been interpreted as a fear of being poisoned on Chiwenga’s part after he spent four months at a Chinese Hospital last year due to alleged poisoning.

Zim Morning Post claims that since his return from China, Chiwenga has refused to ingest any form of foodstuff at public events.

Today’s incident comes after Chiwenga spilt the contents of a glass of champagne at the official arrival of a new Air Zimbabwe aircraft last month, instead of drinking them.
