- He has coached in all continents except South America and has more than 20 years of coaching experience.
- He began his football career as a player and a coach for NK Croatia Malmö in 1988.
- Up until 30 November 2019, he was the Sudanese national team coach.
- He has also spent time in East Africa at Kenyan clubs Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards as well as in Tanzania at Simba FC
