Dr Daniel Shumba, leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) who is also a former member of the ruling ZANU PF has claimed that the governing party intends to kill him.
Shumba was fired from ZANU PF over his involvement in the Tsholotsho fiasco that allegedly sought to elevate Mnangagwa ahead of former Vice-President Joice Mujuru who was Mugabe’s preferred choice. Shumba rejoined ZANU PF in 2009 but was dismissed again in 2017. He posted on Twitter and said:
Why do you want to kill me? For dumping Zanu PF? For speaking the truth? You expropriated my farm, businesses, and freedoms. You’re not God. I’ll live to see you gone.
Among others, the tweet also tagged Nick Mangwana, the permanent Secretary of Information, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, SADC, South Africa president, Cyril Ramaphosa and the US Embassy in Harare.
