2021 AFCON Qualifiers Have Been Brought Forward

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has brought forward Zimbabwe versus Algeria 2021 AFCON qualifiers to March this year.

This was revealed by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) through posts on its social media pages. A post on Facebook reads:

2021 AFCON qualifiers have been brought forward!

Our back-2-back away & home ties against Algeria will now be played between 23 and 31 March 2020 instead of 31 August – 8 September.

Our final 2021 CAN qualifier against Zambia at home will now be played during the September international break.

Our away trip to Botswana shall take place during the 1-9 June international break.

Zimbabwe has a big chance of qualifying for the tournament that will be hosted by Cameroon in January and February 2021 after racking four points from two games.

The Warriors trail AFCON holders Algeria by two points after drawing 0-0 with Botswana at home and beating Zambia 2-0 in its backyard.
