Kaizer Chiefs Legend Tells Club To Keep ‘Evergreen’ Katsande

Kaizer Chiefs legend and former assistant coach Patrick Mabedi has urged the Naturena-based club not to cast off former Warriors captain Willard Katsande because he is “old”.

Mabedi believes that Katsande is the backbone of the team and still has got some years left in his legs. Said Mabedi:

He still has some legs to go. For me, why do you need to let somebody go that is doing well? I mean if something is not broken in your house, why do you need to change it and try to get rid of it and try to get something else?

Katsande celebrated his 34th birthday on Wednesday and his contract with Chiefs expires at the end of the 2019/2020 season.

He joined Amakhosi from Ajax Cape Town in 2011 and Chiefs have not lost a game in which he has played this season.
