Woman Tries To Conceal The Cause Of Husband's Death To Protect Killer Son

A Bulawayo woman, Beauty Ncube reportedly gave police a false account of how her husband sustained injuries that eventually claimed his life.

Mrs Ncube reportedly told the police that her husband, Sipho Ncube who died on Wednesday at Mpilo hospital sustained the injury after falling on a rake when reports suggest that her son, Musawenkosi had axed his father over a week ago.

The deceased’s brother, Mr Fanveli Ncube told the Chronicle on Friday that he got suspicious when he saw his brother’s wound. He said:

The information that we have gathered so far is that his son attacked him while defending his mother. We don’t know what my brother and his wife were fighting over. After the incident his wife told police that my brother was drunk and fell onto a rake.  Initially I did not make an issue as I had not seen the wound until my brother who works at Mpilo Central Hospital called me and showed me the picture. That’s when I refused to sign papers claiming he fell on a rake.

He added that he made “a counter-report” which led to the arrest of his brother’s wife.
