Govt To Award Civil Servants Interim Cushioning Allowance This Week

The government will pay all civil servants an Interim Cushioning Allowance this week while negotiations for a Cost of Living Adjustment continue.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development announced that the Interim Cushioning Allowance will vary from Grade to Grade. Here is the breakdown:

Band    Approved Cushioning Allowance (ZWL$)
F –        $400
E –        $800
D –       $780
C –       $770
B –       $760
A –       $750

A meeting between the Civil Servants Apex Council and government representatives on Monday ended in a deadlock. See picture below:
