PICTURE: Long Winding Queue At Beitbridge Border Post

Long, winding queues of more than 4km have formed on roads leading to Beitbridge Border Post as thousands of Zimbabweans “escape” from the country for greener pastures in South Africa.

Reports indicate that over 500 000 people and nearly 100 000 vehicles passed through SADC’s busiest port of entry in December 2019.

Journalist and socialite, Hopewell Chin’ono, has posted a picture on Twitter showing a long queue of vehicles headed for the border town with the caption:

Any sensible leadership would be embarrassed with this!

These are NOT tourists going back home to South Africa.

These ARE Zimbabweans going back to their workplaces in South Africa!
