Mupfumira Demands NSSA Audited Financial Report, Trial Deferred To 2020

Former cabinet minister, Prisca Mupfumira, through her lawyer advocate Thembinkosi Magwaliba, has requested the financial audited report from the period between 2015 to 2018 from the National Social Security Authority (NSSA).

Mupfumira wants the report from the prosecution saying there were issues she wanted to ascertain before her trial commences.

She has also requested that the State furnishes her with a written agreement between NSSA and the Public Service Commission on a US$90 000 loan she allegedly authorised.

Mupfumira has also written a letter to the State demanding a Cabinet Minister’s handbook, which outlines her expected duties and responsibilities during her tenure in office.

The former Public Service Minister is jointly charged with the former secretary for Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Ngoni Masuka, on two counts of criminal abuse of office and another count of concealing a transaction from a principal.

Mupfumira’s trial was supposed to start this Monday but was postponed to January 16 and 17 2020.

The decision to defer the trial to next year was made after Mupfumira and Masoka told Harare magistrate Munamato Mutevedzi that they could not start trial without the documents.
