Schweppes To Resume Orange Crush Production – Report

Beverages giant Schweppes will once again start to produce the much loved orange crush after production had stopped due to a shortage of key raw materials mainly because of forex shortages, the Chronicle reports.

Schweppes’s commercial and public affairs director, Mrs Unaiswi Nyikadzino responded to questions asked by the publication and said Schweppes was not yet out of the rabbit hole and continued production was not a certainty:

Mazoe Orange Crush production is dependent on full availability of raw materials, which has been inconsistent of late due to outstanding payments to various suppliers. Product availability is a function of various workstreams, which is not limited to concentrate availability but includes other raw materials, utilities (power and water) among others. Management continues to engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that all these operational matters are managed in an efficient and effective manner.

This came after it was reported that Schweppes for the past 3 weeks had stopped producing Mazoe Orange crush after coca Cola cut off the supply of some key ingredient due to a $10 Million debt.
