Soldiers Threaten To Kill CIO With Mugabe Surname Over Ex-President's Alleged Crimes

Two Hwange-based soldiers, Sindiso Nkomo and Philani Nyoni have appeared in court after they allegedly threatened to kill a CIO operative bearing a Mugabe surname in an act of revenge, claiming the late president Robert Mugabe killed thousands in Matebeleland.

The duo appeared before Hwange magistrate Ailene Minamati who found them guilty before and slapped them with a $100 fine each for threatening to kill Tawanda Mugabe for being related to the late former president before assaulting him.

The court heard that at around 5 am on December 8, the accused were at Cricket Club in Hwange where they approached the complainant after they heard him being called by the name Mugabe by his friend.

The duo reportedly then threatened to kill the complainant accusing him of being related to the late former president who allegedly killed a lot of people in the region.

They then allegedly struck Mugabe on the left arm with an unknown sharp object and a broken beer bottle.
