"Chamisa Will Never Join Zimbabwe/Rhodesia-like Set-up... POLAD"

MDC president Nelson Chamisa has vowed that he will never join the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD), a grouping of presidential candidates in last year’s elections.

This was revealed by an academic and political commentator, Pedzisai Ruhanya, who posted on Twitter claiming that he spoke to the opposition leader. He wrote:

We see things and stupid propaganda machinations ahead of time. That Nelson Chamisa and MDC should join the wretched POLAD, a Zimbabwe/Rhodesia like set up was the agenda of the system through Mbeki. I just spoke to Chamisa and he said IT CANT, IT CAN NEVER BE.

… Chamisa and the MDC can only join POLAD and its captured and coopted wannabes in dreamland, in the CIO offices and state media newsrooms’ imaginary and pathological hallucinations.

Meanwhile, MDC deputy national spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka, has revealed that former South African President Thabo Mbeki met Chamisa twice within 24 hours during his recent visit to Zimbabwe. Tamborinyoka wrote on Twitter:

If the POLAD platform was adequate to address the country’s crisis, why did Mbeki have to meet the “inconsequential” Nelson Chamisa twice in 24 hours? Why engage him twice if, as presumed, he is irrelevant to Zimbabwe’s political moment?

This follows a story in the State-owned daily publication, The Herald, which claimed that Chamisa was set to join POLAD.
