"I'm Going To Tell People To Come And Experience Life In Zimbabwe," British Royal Navy Commander

The Honorary Commander of the British Royal Navy, Mrs Durdana Ansari who is in the country for a holiday in Victoria Falls has urged Zimbabweans to work hard to change the negative image the world has on Zimbabwe.

She said that people will always have their own perceptions but Zimbabweans can portray the country the way they want it to be viewed.  She said:

I don’t want to venture into political issues as I came here as an individual. But as I go back, I am going to tell people to come and experience life in Zimbabwe before they make their own opinions than to rely on what others tell them. There is too much anger in the world and we should make peace.

Her remarks come when Zimbabwe is still isolated from the international community with some media houses portraying the country negatively.

Most Western states dissociated with Zimbabwe two decades ago over alleged human rights abuses during the fast track land reform programme which saw natives grabbing land from white farmers.
