President Emmerson Mnangagwa said members of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWA) and the Zimbabwe Liberation and War Collaborators Association (ZILIWACO) should not expect any more freebies from the government.
Mnangagwa said this while addressing the media before the 335th ordinary session of the Politburo on Wednesday that marked the beginning of Zanu PF’s Annual Conference currently underway in Goromonzi. He said:
This past weekend, I had occasion to address a Zimbabwe Liberation and War Collaborators Association (Ziliwaco) meeting at the City Sports Centre here in Harare and I congratulate the leadership for a successful event.
Various issues were raised which affect that constituency of our party and we will do our best to address the matters which they raised.
However, we appeal to the association to shift their paradigm from a welfare-oriented mindset to that which has a membership primed at working hard using our God-given resources.
War veterans have been making cumulative demands over the years, going as far back as 1997 when the government gave $50 000 each gratuity and other benefits for their role in the liberation struggle.
Of late, the ex-combatants have demanded a bank to be established exclusively for their organisation.
That is the mindset zanu pf has nurtured in these parasitesfor years war vets my arse common thugs with begging bowls
In every country in the world war vets get first preference no matter who won or lost. Germany lost but their veterans get help. ZanuPf believes otherwise nothing unusual. ZanuPf are complete mongrels.
The entire Zanu PF maggots harbor this mindset, which is an avenue for looting from the State coffers.
