Air Traffic Control Technical Issues Disrupt Flights At RGMI Airport, Again

There were technical problems with air traffic control at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Tuesday morning.

A statement released by FastJet, which operates flights into and out of the airport, blamed the technical issues for in delays to its flight. The statement reads:

We inform our esteemed customers that our flights today shall be affected by delays due to air traffic control technical issues experienced in Zimbabwe earlier on this morning. We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of this.

Last week on Monday, air traffic controllers (ATCs) at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport failed to turn up for work resulting in delayed and cancelled flights.

The ATCs embarked on strike action citing fatigue and incapacitation, forcing their superiors to step in and rescue the situation.
