ZANU PF Reportedly Disrupts Media Portifolio As Revenge On MDC
The issue of the legitimacy of President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly been to new heights this Thursday after legislators of the ruling ZANU PF allegedly disrupted the Media Committee chaired by opposition MDC MP, Prince Sibanda.
Only recently, ZANU PF legislators walked out on the Tendai Biti-chaired Public Accounts Committee saying that MDC Parliamentarians were doing the same to President Mnangagwa.
MDC Members of Parliament have on a number of occasions boycotted Parliament events which were attended by President Mnangagwa saying that they did not recognise his presidency since “he rigged the 2018 presidential elections”.
The latest development was revealed by Pedzisai Ruhanya, the director of the Harare-based Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (ZDI) who posted on Twitter saying:
ZANU PF MPs disrupt Media Portfolio Committee chaired by MDC’s Prince Sibanda on account that MDC and @nelsonchamisa do not recognise Mnangagwa presidency. As it stands Parliament’s Committee’s system is dysfunctional. ZANU PF is behaving like the opposition coz of lack of ideas.

There has been an impasse between the MDC and the ruling ZANU PF since last year over elections with the former accusing the governing party of conniving with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to manipulate elections in favour of Mnangagwa.
Analysts have urged the two main parties in the country to find each other as the recovery of the country’s economy depended, immensely, on the relations of the two parties.
