Zimbabweans Told NOT To Put Faith In A Coup

Prominent journalist and government critic, Hopewell Chin’ono, says the opposition MDC and the general citizenry should not to pin their hope for a better Zimbabwe on another coup.

Writing on Twitter, Chin’ono urged Zimbabweans to push for political reforms rather than expecting ZANU PF factional fights to deliver them to Canaan. He said:

If the opposition or the citizen is pinning their hope on a coup, then they have learnt nothing and they have lost two years of their lives!

Zimbabwe NEEDS Political Reforms to transform the country towards a normal society.

The opposition should not rely on ZANU-PF fights but ACTION!

In November 2017, thousands of Zimbabweans from all walks of life poured into the streets to celebrate the toppling of the then president, Robert Mugabe, by the military.

The coup, dubbed “Operation Restore Legacy” was expected to usher in a new era of prosperity but analysts say the situation is now far much worse than it was in 2017.
