Joey Antipas Explains Sudden Resignation From Warriors

Former Warriors caretaker coach Joseph Antipas said that he resigned on the basis that his tenure was always meant to be short-term and to end in December.

The Chicken Inn coach shocked the football fraternity by announcing his departure from the Warriors technical team barely 24 hours after leading the Warriors to a 2-1 2021 Afcon qualifier win over Zambia in Lusaka on Tuesday night. Said Antipas:

I take a bow. I was only in charge for six games up to December 2019.

Antipas was in charge of the Warriors for six games and has a decent winning record – 61,12 per cent.

During his tenure, Antipas led the Warriors to qualification for the 2020 Chan tournament and the group stages of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
