Energy Minister, advocate Fortune Chasi has ordered power utility, ZESA to immediately reconnect Mnene Hospital, a mission and only transferral hospital in Mberengwa (North).
This comes after ZESA had disconnected power from the hospital citing a huge electricity bill the medical institution owed to the power utility.
Mberengwa North legislator, Tafanana Zhou, had urged the hospital authorities to pay the debt saying that he had no power to influence a reconnection since Mnene is not a government hospital.
Writing on Twitter, Minister Chasi said:
@ZerdcOfficial please reconnect Mnene Hospital immediately.
