Ecocash, the largest mobile phone-based money transfer, financing and microfinancing service in Zimbabwe has asked for customers’ patience as they deal with “stability issues to optimise the availability of various EcoCash services across the new platform”.
The development came after Ecocash “successfully implemented the planned upgrade of EcoCash to a new, more secure platform” between Saturday night and Sunday, a development which saw some services including the option to buy airtime and data products with EcoCash missing from lists and the platform was also down in shops.
Posting on social media, Ecocash asked for patience saying:
Dear Valued Customer
Please be advised that we are working on stabilizing the system following the upgrade last night.
You may experience some intermittent challenges in trying to transact on EcoCash.
