Gokwe Hit By An Anthrax Outbreak For The Second Time In 2019

5 cattle have reportedly died in Gwokwe following a second Anthrax outbreak that has hit the district for the second time in less than a month, Sunday News reports.

Speaking to the publication, Midlands Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr Martin Sibanda said:

We have another focal outbreak this week in Gokwe North in areas close to Binga. We are trying to move our vaccines to the place and that has to be done in coldchain so that same temperature is maintained.

The department will also have to dispatch officers to the area to vaccinate affected livestock,

Barely a month ago Gokwe was hit by the same problem and the department contained the outbreak.
