President Mnangagwa on Wednesday night characterised a ZANU PF, the G40, as a threat to the security of the country.
This was revealed by ZANU PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo while addressing journalists after a politburo meeting held at the party’s headquarters. Moyo quoted Mnangagwa as saying:
G40 is not a threat to Zanu PF. It’s a threat to the country including the MDC. It’s a threat to security and security affects everyone.
Mnangagwa warned ZANU PF members at every level of the party to avoid going to bed with G40, and those hobnobbing with G40 elements to desist from doing so.
G40 is a ZANU faction that engineered Mnangagwa’s sacking from party and government in 2017 when factional fights had reached fever pitch.
