Suspended Bulawayo Deputy Mayor, Tinashe Kambarami and Ward Four councillor, Silas Chigora were on Tuesday acquitted by Bulawayo magistrate Shepard Munjanja.

The two facing malicious damage to property and assault charges after an altercation with Bulawayo Town Clerk Christopher Dube at Bulawayo City Hall on 12 July this year. In acquiting the duo, magistrate Munjanja said:

Kambarambi attempted and failed to suspend Dube when he was acting mayor on allegations of mismanaging council funds and abuse of office.

After the failed suspension, Dube filed assault charges against Kambarami and Chigora. The duo was acquitted of all charges.
