RBZ Disappoints Depositors On New Notes And Coins - Survey
Depositors around the country have reportedly queued at banks this Monday aiming to withdraw new notes but were left disappointed as the new notes were not there.
The central bank, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe had last week promised that it will be introducing the new $2 and $5 notes to ease the cash crisis.
The Chronicle reports, however, that bank officials at branches such as Standard Chartered, CABS, ZB Bank, Ecobank and CBZ said in Bulawayo revealed that the central bank was yet to give them the new notes.
The publication further reported that at one of the ZB Bank branches only 45 customers managed to get cash (bond notes) withdrawals while others were turned away.
