Hwange Restores 2 Units, Load Shedding Expected To Ease

ZESA Holdings spokesperson Fullard Gwasira said that two units at Hwange Thermal Power Station have been restored to service.

Gwasira however, did not reveal when the other unit will start functioning again. Writing on Twitter on Monday morning, he said:

Two Units have now been restored to service, thereby improving the power supply situation.

Earlier on Sunday, the Zimbabwe Electricity and Distribution Company (ZETDC) announced that it was implementing load shedding at Stage 2.

The power utility said that three Generator Units had tripped at Hwange Power Station in the early hours of the morning leading to a loss of 251MW from the National Grid.
