Tendai "The Beast" Mtawarira's Mother Speaks As SA Wins Rugby World Cup

Bertha Mtawarira, the mother of Zimbabwe-born Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira who plays for the Springboks of South Africa was ecstatic as South Africa overcame England to win the Rugby World Cup, again.

Speaking to the Sunday Mail, Bertha said Tendai had made the family and nation proud. She also thanked God for the victory saying all things were possible through Him. She said:

I spoke to Tendai briefly this morning (Saturday) and he told me how nervous and excited he was.

I encouraged him to go for it. I was confident they would win. He played very well, in fact the entire team played well.

The Beast as Tendai is popularly known was England’s main tormenter and when he was substituted three minutes into the second half, he had already done great harm from which England never recovered.

South Africa has so far won three World Cup trophies, after every 12 years since 1995 following their second Cup in 2007.

This recent victory saw a first black Springboks Captain, Siya Kolisi lifting the trophy, something that was unheard of previously since rugby was regarded as a white-elite sport.
