President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged ZANU PF youths to flush out of the party remnants of the Generation-40 (G40) faction.
The call was made at the Second Zanu-PF National Youth League Assembly Meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Harare on Thursday. Said, President Mnangagwa:
We still have elements of the G40 participating among us as wolves in sheep clothing. These must be flushed out, not only within the Youth League but also within the rank and file of the party in general.
The G40 faction allegedly emerged in the twilight of the late national hero Robert Mugabe’s reign. It wanted to take over power from the party’s old guard and was reportedly fronted by the likes of former cabinet ministers Saviour Kasukuwere, Jonathan Moyo, Patrick Zhuwawo and Walter Mzembi. The former ministers are in self-imposed exile.
