Situation In District Hospitals Dire As Patients Are Said To Be Starving

Patients at the country’s District Hospitals are starving while in hospital, the Daily News reports. The matter came to light in Parliament when defence minister Oppah Muchinguri asked Labour and social welfare Minister Sekesai Nzenza what her ministry was doing to address such a critical question.

Said Muchinguri:

My question is; what is the ministry doing in assisting district rural hospitals that are now struggling to feed patients under their care.

To which Nzenza responded;

… we are liaising with the local drought relief committee as well as the hospital where the request would have come from. We will respond to every request from the hospitals where resources are available.
