PICTURES: Cars Owned By ED Close Associates Who Didn't Pay Duty

Hopewell Chin’ono has claimed that Kuda Tagwirei of SAKUNDA Holdings imported a luxurious car using billions he looted from the central bank, RBZ. He also claimed that another close associate of President Mnangagwa, Justice Mayor Wadyajena imported his yellow Lamborghini duty-free.

According to Chin’ono, Wadyajena’s customs duty for the Lamborghini should have been in excess of US$300000, that would have run Harare Hospital for four months without shortages. Posting on Facebook, Chin’ono said:

It would have paid the salaries of 3750 medical doctors, but it didn’t because he used his close proximity to political power to evade paying the duties.

At the time he falsely argued that he used an MP’s duty rebate, but it only allows MPs to bring cars worth not more than US$75000, so he stole from the taxpayer by withholding duties.

Both cars are worth over one million dollars, yet the same President blames sanctions for his failures whilst turning a blind eye to looting of the State.
