Let Me Commend the European Union For Taking Some Initial, Positive Steps Towards Responding To Our Offer For Dialogue – ED

The President during the anti-sanctions day speech took the time to commend the EU for their initiative towards re-engagement.

The president said:

Allow me to acknowledge and commend the European Union for taking some initial, positive steps towards responding to our offer for dialogue and friendship.

The EU has begun progressively removing the sanctions that it imposed on us, thereby allowing us to access some development assistance under the European Development Fund

The EU has always maintained that sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe don’t harm the ordinary Zimbabwean as they only affect 5 individuals and include an arms embargo.
