NSSA Board Sends 24 Executives On Forced Leave
The Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Sekai Nzenza said that the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) board has recommended that several executives be sent on forced leave while investigations of corruption at the entity are conducted.
As a result, 24 executives, among them NSSA’s chief finance officer Emerson Mungwariri are believed to be on forced leave. Said Nzenza:
The board is taking necessary action based on recommendations from lawyers who unpacked the forensic audit report.
FeedbackTo date, the chairman and the board have stated that all current staff who are implicated in the forensic report will be asked to go on mandatory leave for an indefinite period, to give ample time for the board to deal with the issues raised against them.
The development follows the publication of an audit report which found widespread wrongdoing at the institution when Prisca Mupfumira was Welfare Minister between 2014 and 2017.
