Zimbabwe May Experience Record Breaking Temperatures This Month - Met Services Dpt

The Meteorological Services Department has said Zimbabwe may experience extremely high temperatures in some parts of the country till Monday next week, Sunday News reports.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the department which read in part:

From 23 October 2019, temperatures over the southern parts of the country are anticipated to recover and rise again to lie in the upper thirties for the bulk of the country.

Given the extended period of very hot conditions (heatwave) the public is encouraged to; stay well hydrated, put on sun hats when working in the open, avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight and take measures to reduce heat related problems

Temperatures are expected to hit 40 degrees Celcius in areas which include, Chipinge, Chiredzi, Kanyemba, include K Kariba, Binga, Victoria Falls, Beitbridge, Chisumbanje. Rains had been predicted to start in October but most parts of the country have not yet recorded any meaningful rains.
