Govt Ready To Roll Out Silo Shops – President Mnangagwa

The government has pooled enough resources for the launch of Silo Shops in rural areas where most of the poor people live.

This was revealed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa while addressing the first edition of the Rural District Councillors Meeting on Tuesday. He said:

We now have the funding and we have identified seven commodities that would be subsidised.

These include mealie-meal, salt, sugar and cooking oil, among others. These shops target rural populace who are facing the most difficulties.

In June this year Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa told a Zanu-PF Manicaland’s Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting that the government will soon people’s shops in all corners of the countries from cities, towns to villages. The shops will reportedly sell silo products will be sold at affordable prices.
